So many Jamaicans with degrees up to PHD steeped in partisanship and โI am right, so no need to debate, discuss and interchange ideasโฆโ. No wonder we not growing, developing at a rate matching our abilities & natural blessings.
Damien King and others raise the spectre of resource curse if we discover commercially viable oil deposits. This in the context of a culture of corruption & waste that we seem unable to tame. And rather than debate, discuss on merit, extract the good from the dialectical process and formulate strategies, many people dismiss the issue summarily on all kinds of grounds: personal, ideological, distraction, agenda to keep down poor peopleโฆ
Intellectual and party automatons. To shut off oneself from contending views and respectful engagement is a path of little or no growth. Unfortunately for Jamaica a lot of intellectual and party automatons have seats of power, influence and substance. Is no accident that one-third of Jamaicans born on the Rock have left. Di damn place too r..s stifling.
@djmillerJA Keep on voicing the truth. Sadly the vitriol coming from the supporters is not surprising. Anyone who thinks independently, is considered the enemy ๐คท๐พโโ๏ธ
