@dwjorgeb@bookingcom until we start telling people they reason they get scammed is not because they're dumb but because their data was stolen and distributed 10x this will go on
Mixed feelings on this take. I feel the pain but I don't know if it's just my imune response (because I'm old enough to have seen different).
But there's a ton of red flags here... Biggest one imho is not even engineering being automated, but that we've learned (backed with over 30y of data on software product iteration) that shipping things like crazy doesn't necessarily or magically translate to market share, i.e. just because you can doesn't mean you should.
If the goal is to fully automate your eng, then fire everyone except 10/20 ppl and have those orchestrate (but yo u better ensure you know what you're doing and what's happening and some solid loops for assessing results or it'll become a shitshow) but seeing large companies "just shipping" feels nonsensical (unless you're like Meta/Goog and now you can spread horizontally to eat all verticals)
I am done with this shit. It is over. The state of engineering right now is horrible. It has been half a month since I started a new role at a big company. Nobody knows anything here. The specs, code, tests, PRDs, tickets, resolution of those tickets, reports, etc., everything is made by Claude Code. Nobody on my team likes this. They are being forced to ship as much as they can. I have heard multiple times from higher management that pushing code is not a bottleneck, so why are we slow? People are working 12 to 13 hours a day just to press enter. Nobody is reading anything. Humans in corporate are doing nothing on their own. Everyone, literally everyone, from an L1 to an L7 engineer here is doing the same thing. Talk to Claude. There is no sense of victory. Nobody is resolving bugs. In reality, nobody is thinking anymore. Everything is done by LLMs. It is so soul-sucking. I would not mind it, to be honest, if we were at least given the time to check out the code and see what is going where. But no, the goal is to just ship. No matter what happens.
@dwjorgeb I feel BTC still emboldens that spirit to some extent and a few others do too i.e. the ones not hijacked by venture capital, but pretty much every other chain and what not has way too ballast to not cater to the system and therefore it's reqs
@luchilla@paoloardoino Maybe you're too young to remember the Terra/Luna collapse and how Tether redeemed 40% of reserves in 1 week with 0 delays. In case you're too young to know, that was also a first in world history.
@dwjorgeb Agreed on that particular stretch of highway but not so much on most others. Pretty decent I'd say overall in Spain. I think this stretch sucks because the road to Portugal doesn't yield any votes.
Deepseek v4 flash is now available on Fabric. We added Vulkan and Metal support, so you can run it on any gpu. Performance improvements come from optimized fused kernels. Go and try the new @deepseek_ai released version '0731' on https://t.co/OzCiML7whP
We went through this: "stash ai" from which this work was derived from was not a copy of "stash" if anything it looked like the opposite. Both bodies of work resemble nothing like each other.
We also went through the fact that this new work by @DisturbedCoin is a close clone to "stash ai", attribution was even given although I'm not seeing that post anymore.
"Stash AI" is distributed as GPL3 which requires the new work to follow the same license, explicit attribution amongst other things. Is this the case? If so can we have the repo link?
