@gwen1777139673@PeteButtigieg You should check oit how the tax cuts for the wealthy in his first term turned out. No wage raises. No additional hiring. Massive stock buy backs. And improved bottom lines.
BREAKING: Donald Trump puts us all in immediate danger by firing the EPA's clean air and science advisory boards — paving the way for Big Business to get rich by polluting our air and poisoning our lungs.
And it gets worse...
"By removing these independent experts, this administration is—yet again—selling out our nation’s public health and environmental protections to the same polluting industries that bankrolled much of Trump’s campaign. This is not about good governance, this is about rigging the system for polluters; corruption at the expense of the American people,” said Democratic Senator Sheldon Whitehouse.
Then-acting Administrator James Payne claimed on Tuesday that the decision to "reset" the boards was a move that "emphasizes the importance" of their role in "protecting human health and the environment."
In reality, this is a political purge of the most mercenary intent. Trump wants to gut these boards and staff them with partisan hacks who will look the other way as polluting industries rake in the money at our expense.
We should fully expect the replacement members on the boards — if and when they are appointed — to be climate change-denying, pro-fossil fuel hacks. These industries helped Trump win the White House. Now they're cashing in on their investment.
Please retweet and ❤️ to urge Democrats to investigate these firings — and consider joining the growing exodus to Tribel, a new pro-democracy social network that is exploding in popularity because Twitter and Facebook are trying to stop its growth — which is only making Tribel grow even faster. @pdrjohnson@DonLawr86874954@MelnikDebo83413 There are about 245 million eligible voters. About 77 million people voted for Trump. The rest (about 168 million) did not vote for him. So well over half of the americans don't want him in.
@AnnIuen@8WithaTiara His battle cry for his first term was "Repeal and replace Obamacare". He almost had it repealed until Sen. John McCain voted NO. When asked about his plans for a new Healthcare plan, he would say in 2 weeks, 4 weeks, soon, after the election, etc. He still has no plan.
