El/Gerbil/Gerb | A product of the late 1900s | Any pronouns | I write fics but I just use twitter to follow people. Don't bother following me. I won't post.
@unreeemarkable I don't know where the idea comes from but there definitely seems to be this idea that a fanfic needs to be of a certain quality and having a beta is a way to get there. I think sometimes people need to be reminded fanfic is free.
@unreeemarkable My favorite book series happens to mostly be in first person. It can work and it can work really well. I think it is harder to get it just right. If anyone would be able to make it work I think it would be you. I am sure would enjoy it either way.
@unreeemarkable That is /exactly/ where I am at too. This was suppose to be a ~5k oneshot that I wrote in a week. Here I am a over 3 weeks later 12k, 32 pages, and counting.
@unreeemarkable If I get too distracted by the lyrics then I switch to instrumental music. Game, movie, anime soundtracks, sometimes neoclassical stuff.
@sofiakkuma It was also pretty out of his known character at that point. He didn't yell encouragements at anyone else during the entire sports fest. Uraraka was sitting right next to him and looked downright shocked. Izuku wanted Shouto to win that much!
@unreeemarkable Happy to help! It may be different in other parts of the world. I have never had ginger come up in convo with someone in the UK. I am with you there! I don't know what it is about the US that make us want to use the powdered versions. Why use powdered garlic when there is fresh?!
@unreeemarkable Yes, in my experience. Generally, Americans assume "ginger" means the powdered form so other things need to be specified. If I was at the store to buy some I would say something like "a bit of fresh ginger" or a "small ginger root."
@unreeemarkable I have only seen people say knob of ginger when they want a knob piece of a root. A knob is a specific piece of the ginger root, at least in my experience. Usually its just vague phrases like, some, a bit of, ect. Your example is a normal use or "ginger root" instead of "ginger."
@Dominic__Noble I use the same headphones. I haven't been able to find anything similar with bluetooth. I ended up buying a headphone bluetooth adapter that I can plug the headphones in and sync my devices to the adapter. Not perfect but I haven't found anything better yet.
@unreeemarkable Probably not be what you are looking for but have you read Pushed Over The Edge by PixieUnicorn1112, https://t.co/Eo63gFlsot It is heavy but gets lighter when things are looking better while at the same time this cloud always hangs over everything.
@zanzimez I was going to say check https://t.co/nMntxmYKfD top 100 videos. That site fell out of use with the rise of YouTube so their top videos are 2000~2007. A lot of Naruto and Linkin Park. But it seems the site is down currently. Hopefully they will be back up soon.
@IZUMIDORlYA@sascakegia I think everyone is reading Shouto wrong here. He thought Izuku was hiding a known part of his quirk, that Izuku was holding back after demanding Shouto stop. He isn't going to be mad because Izuku never hid part of his quirk intentionally. Izuku didn't know he could do this.
