@pumpakin1013@obsmchat I do agree with your comment - there are definite consequences with non-compliance after #wls. That's why aftercare and professional support is crucial to a patient's success. Noone should do this alone. Pre-surgery education is also imperative.
Is #bariatricsurgery the easy way out? Or the ONLY way out! We say it isnt the easy way, but it is an EASIER way than dieting alone. Join us and the @obsmchat community as we discuss this on Sunday March 10th at 9pm EST!
@pumpakin1013@obsmchat I speak from personal experience. Went to #weightwatchers for the first time at age 13. Struggled my whole life. Spent thousands on diets and failed. I went for #gastricband surgery 10 years ago. Lost 100 pounds and kept it off. I couldn't have succeeded or maintained otherwise.
The benefits far outweigh the risk. #BariatricSurgery is very safe in the hands of an experienced surgeon. The risks of not receiving surgery is far higher as demonstrated by the Christou study where those who did not receive surgery were almost 9 times more likely to die. #obsm
