@MarschikTamas @MrDouglasHall @SpaghettiKozak Like a lot of British Law, it happened for an extremely long time and there is no real good reason to change it so it will probably stick for at least another century or two.

@MarschikTamas @MrDouglasHall @SpaghettiKozak Originally they were always held on Thursdays as it was the furthest day from both Monday (Pub) and Sunday (Church), so a voter was less likely to be swayed by either of those events and more likely to vote how they would on their own. Its kind of just convention now that sticks.
