🔍 Just so we're all on the same page, I monitor this specific group and check with the State Dept, the Visa Consular office in DC, DHS, and the university itself, once every month.

Meanwhile, the Somali Bantu Association of America has received $5.7 million in federal taxpayer grants since 2017 for “integration” programs, while prioritizing Islamic practice “from babies all the way until we pass away.”

They also took a $10,000 grant from Islamic Relief USA, long accused of Muslim Brotherhood ties.

This is demographic change in one of America’s reddest strongholds, funded by your taxes and cheered by your leaders who host Iftars.

I know Pastor Nuhad Hassan personally.

He is a Kurd from a Muslim background who converted to Christianity and led a church in Lebanon for over a decade.

On July 19, Pastor Nuhad went to Syria to visit his village, and on July 20 he was arrested by al-Julani’s government over posts he made during the Afrin massacre against the Kurds.

I just hung up the phone with friends and family members who are seriously concerned that he will be sentenced to death, the judges in Syria today are former ISIS jihadists, and they will sentence him according to sharia.

I will contact the members of Congress who support al-Julani and urge them to intervene for Pastor Nuhad’s release.

The new Oasis project is being built as another permanent waqf endowment for the same institution.

The total cost of the Oasis has climbed to $16.5 million.

As of mid-2026, $9.6 million had already been paid.

🛑They still needed several million more to finish, with part of the remaining funds expected from the Islamic Development Bank - a major international lender based in Saudi Arabia whose shareholders include multiple Muslim-majority governments, including Iran.

The goal is clear and stated openly in their own fundraising materials:

Create a self-sustaining revenue engine so the Islamic Center no longer has to rely on constant donations.

The apartments and retail spaces will produce continuous income that supports Islamic education, proselytizing, and institutional growth long after the current donors are gone.

The Islamic Center of Irving already has a documented history of extremism - employing radical imams, facing a $2.5 million sexual-exploitation judgment against one former head imam, and ties to other controversial figures and institutions in the Irving area.

Yet the expansion continues unchecked.

In a state that still votes red, these projects move forward with little mainstream scrutiny.

The Oasis is just one example of how Islamic institutions are steadily taking over more and more of Texas - brick by brick, apartment by apartment, endowment by endowment.

What does the persecution of minorities in most Islamic countries actually look like?

It is not a clean legal code that openly discriminates against minosrities.

On paper, many of these states have constitutions that promise equality and freedom to all citizens, Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

If you stop at the text, everything appears defensible.

The persecution comes from society itself. It is the tyranny of public opinion.

A Christian who knows that building a church may be technically permitted but will trigger protests, threats, or obstruction from the surrounding community.

A convert from Islam who understands that the constitution says one thing, but his family, his neighborhood, and his workplace will treat his decision as betrayal, something to be punished.

A teacher who avoids certain subjects, a journalist who avoids certain questions, a citizen who avoids certain words, not because a policeman is standing over him, but because he knows the reaction that will come if he steps out of line.

Society defines the boundaries, and everyone enforces them.

You do not need constant state intervention when the cost of deviation is social isolation, economic pressure, intimidation, or death.

The line is clear to everyone, even if it is never written down. Step outside of it, and the consequences follow, lost opportunities, public shaming, harassment, and violence that is explained away as a “reaction” rather than treated as a violation.

The result is a system where the formal structure can claim tolerance while the lived reality enforces conformity.

Freedom exists in theory, but in practice it is negotiated through fear of social consequences.

Minorities are not only dealing with what the law allows; they are navigating what society will tolerate.

A state can promise rights, but if the surrounding culture treats those rights as illegitimate, the individual is left exposed.

This kind of persecution is more insidious than open legal discrimination because it leaves the system untouched and unaccountable.

When persecution comes from society rather than the state, the government can point to its constitution, its courts, and its formal guarantees of equality and claim innocence.

Every act of intimidation, exclusion, or violence is dismissed as an isolated incident, a personal dispute, or a “misunderstanding,” never as part of a pattern.

That gap allows the system to present itself as tolerant and just, even as minorities are quietly constrained at every level of life.

The result is a form of persecution that is harder to name, harder to prove, and therefore harder to confront, because the very institutions that should be held responsible can always step back and say: this is not us.
