@azcontour AZ I’ve been thinking of you! ❤️ It’s been years, you helped me tremendously after I had my first child. We talked a lot through Patreon. Is there a way to start working with you again? I noticed the membership I had isn’t an option anymore. You are the besttttt
@cordonez@Girlaboutsmthng Want to add to this entire discourse, don’t stress too much 🩷 I BEAT myself to oblivion w my first over what people were saying is right/wrong on twitter. Not just for bf but in general. You get new info, you learn, and can apply it in real time or for future babies
@cordonez@lauriejkane@Girlaboutsmthng Did you do vitamin k shot? That can tax the liver and cause jaundice as well - another intervention that can disrupt the process. Something to look into if you plan to have more. Can give oral vitamin k. Either way no judgement here everyone is doing their best 🩷
@cordonez@lauriejkane@Girlaboutsmthng Makes sense. Everyone has to do what works for them based on what’s going on at the time. Another thing is that what you pump is not always an indicator of supply. I ebf, baby is huge, & there’s always milk, but when I pump the amount I get for time spent is so small.
@nancym73026589@Girlaboutsmthng I’m happy that was your experience. It was not mine or my sister’s. I’ve ebf 2 babies now despite this. But yes, this was the guidance given to us.
@cordonez@Girlaboutsmthng Delivering vaginally helps, skin to skin, again…the natural process. There could be a book written on it from start to finish about the ways in which they sabotage the process before it begins. And I’m not against western medicine, just intervention when not absolutely necessary
@cordonez@Girlaboutsmthng Scenario mom needs to feed on demand and that could literally mean every 30 mins, leave ALL interventions ALONE until absolutely necessary, and let the natural process occur. They make it a problem before they’ve given mom and baby a chance. And YES it will hurt and YES it’s hard
@cybelethebest Now some doctors advise against wet nurses. My sister had a baby when mine was 6 months and they told her giving him my milk was risky 😒 Not that she was even having an issue at first, they just convinced her she failed 1.5 days in after completely disrupting the process lol
@julieheglund Don’t have a take either way, I ebf but do you. I will say though, what you pump is not an indicator of supply. You can give your baby longer than .5 milliseconds to gain some weight. Colostrum is enough. Your baby isn’t starved. You don’t need 875 interventions straight away
@teetertooters Wear the baby and have the toddler help (if you can mentally handle that lol) or set up something close by for him to play like magnets etc. also LOWER YOUR STANDARDS for what you can make 😂 I still cook nutritious & from scratch but a lot of simple things are on repeat
