Just found out I have yet another Democrat neighbor (hence their political yard signs). They are from Massachusetts, one of the bluest states in the country, of course they are.

I am so sick and tired of you liberal Yankee retards moving to our SUPER RED areas & voting for the same bullsht that made you FLEE your high tax, dirty, crime ridden home town.

We are red for a reason here. If I wanted to be Massachusetts or or Maryland or New York, I would fking move there.

But of course, your home town goes to sht, you can’t afford to live there anymore, so you move down here on the gulf coast where it’s relatively inexpensive to live, it’s CLEAN, & super low crime, and yet, you STILL vote the same way.

Chief Day admits a 20-minute response time to emergency calls isn’t adequate, but that’s what Portland delivers due to the defunding of police.
Chief Day says he’s re-evaluating how he uses the staff. Portland now has about 1.2 officers for every thousand residents, but cities this size should have about double that number.
Of the 800 cops he has on the books, that means only about 500 on the street. Others are in training and not responding to calls like the seven-year-old girl, grabbed by a naked man who had just been released from jail hours before.
In the end, officers had to come from North Precinct more than three miles away.
Day says of the 500 officers he does have, just over 100 are in non-patrol assignments, and he’s constantly evaluating the value of keeping them in those spots versus assigning them to life-saving jobs.
The Chief admits he may have to make changes in those jobs.
When I asked the Chief why he doesn’t tell the city council to give up its lavish multi-million-dollar staff budgets and invest in more officers. Day’s response: “Lars, there’s a lot of things I've been tempted to say”.
Well, if it’s not politic for Chief Day to say it, I’ll say it for him. Portland city council members…why don’t you give up some of your big entourage of staff and let men and women wear the badge and save some lives.
