@iVRy_VR My understanding is, with this firmware change, the custom DP-AUX emulator board is no longer required, and in case you currently have an AMD GPU with a USB-C port, either your driver, or a possible Sony driver would work without any additional hardware?
@iVRy_VR Would the AMD RDNA2+ GPUs with USB-C still require the custom DP-AUX emulator board, or only the ones without USB-C? I assume yes, but that is not entirely clear, at least to me.
@iVRy_VR If the GPU has USB-C, such as some of the AMD 7xxx cards, is it a goal to eventually not require the hardware "dongle", or will it always be required? Or is it not clear at the moment?
@iVRy_VR Not asking for specific hardware requirements, but I'm ahead of purchasing a GPU, will USB-C be required, or will DP 2.1 be enough on the GPU itself? I mean, what will the future adapter use? This might affect my choice of GPU :D
@essential Is there any news about a european release? I'd buy one for sure, but I'm not willing to go through shady GSM shops, or without making sure I have a proper warranty...
