KADUNA UPDATE: ADC KADUNA PRESS STATEMENT* - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - 30th October 2025
RE: FALSE CLAIMS BY EXPELLED FORMER MEMBER, AHMED TIJANI MUSTAPHA — ADC KADUNA SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT
The attention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kaduna State Chapter, has been drawn to the recent misleading claims and media statements made by Mr. Ahmed Tijani Mustapha, a former member who was expelled from the party on October 21, 2025, after thorough deliberations and constitutional procedure by the State Executive Committee.
In the interest of truth, party discipline, and public clarity, the following facts are hereby restated for the record:
1. Ahmed Tijani Mustapha is no longer a member of the ADC.
Contrary to his media theatrics and false claims of leadership, Mr. Mustapha was lawfully expelled from the ADC for gross misconduct, anti-party activities, and insubordination. His expulsion was approved by the State Executive Committee, in line with Article 22(h) of the ADC Constitution.
The decision followed months of internal reconciliation efforts, interventions by senior party figures, and appeals from coalition partners—all of which he arrogantly rebuffed. His continuous impersonation of a position he no longer holds is both illegal and contemptuous of party authority.
2. The leadership of Elder Patrick D. Ambut remains the only legitimate ADC leadership in Kaduna State.
Elder Ambut’s reinstatement as substantive State Chairman followed the National Secretariat’s verification and validation of authentic party records. This leadership enjoys the full confidence and recognition of the National Working Committee (NWC) and the National Chairman of the ADC.
Any attempt to misrepresent this fact amounts to deliberate misinformation. The National Headquarters has not at any time authorized Mr. Mustapha or his factional associates to speak or act for the party in Kaduna State.
3. Evidence of anti-party collaboration with the APC.
It is on record — through video evidence broadcast on national television — that Mr. Mustapha, in his capacity as former Kaduna IPAC Chairman, openly endorsed and defended the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the last local government elections, falsely declaring that elections were peaceful and ongoing when none took place.
This act of betrayal remains one of the clearest proofs of his collaboration with the ruling APC to subvert opposition interests in Kaduna State. No responsible opposition party could retain a leader who so blatantly undermines its cause.
4. Reconciliation efforts were exhausted before expulsion.
Beyond the internal efforts of the State Executive, several prominent senior members of the ADC and coalition partners made concerted efforts to reconcile Mr. Mustapha and restore harmony. Unfortunately, he remained recalcitrant, dismissive, and defiant, forcing the party to take the painful but necessary action to preserve discipline and integrity.
5. The ADC remains united, focused, and active across Kaduna State.
Contrary to the propaganda of expelled members, the ADC’s state structures remain intact in all 23 Local Government Areas. The leadership under Elder Patrick D. Ambut continues to mobilize genuine members, strengthen local units, and prepare for upcoming political engagements with the support of the National Working Committee.
The ADC in Kaduna State is not for sale, and it will not bow to the antics of political moles planted by external interests.
*Conclusion*
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) remains a party built on integrity, internal democracy, and service to the people. The decision to expel Mr. Ahmed Tijani Mustapha was taken to protect these values and ensure that no individual places personal ambition above the collective will of the members.
The public and all ADC supporters are therefore advised to disregard any statement or action emanating from Mr. Ahmed Tijani Mustapha, as he no longer represents the ADC in any capacity whatsoever.
