During 2012-13 and 2019-20 this account told the story, as live, of the historic 1907-08 season from a Hunslet supporters view and also looked at the NZ tour.

Three years after this project was first instigated I am very pleased to say that the grave of Walter Goldthorpe, one of the 1908 heroes, has been restored.

Today November 3rd marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Albert Goldthorpe. Here is a photo of him proudly wearing one of his medals ad also a more recent photo of the medal.

We have been well beaten today. We were the first team to win all 4 cups last season but have fallen short in the defence of them this year but Hunslet will always be in the history books -We've swept the seas before boys......"

After winning all 4 cups last season this year was always going to be difficult. We have failed to defend 3 trophies but we are still in the cup and play at @TrinityHeritage on Saturday. The home side are favourites but favourites don't always win.

I have recently seen this photos relating to the Wakefield Trinity v New Zealand game from October 1907. The game ended 5 - 5.

📅 #OnThisDay in 1871, Albert Goldthorpe was born in Hunslet.

🏆 Goldthorpe spent his entire career at @HunsletRLFC and captained the club to win all four Cups in the 1907-08 season. He was inducted into the RL Hall of Fame in 2015.

I have just recently seen these photos of the programme for the Wigan v New Zealand game from 1907. Wigan won 12 - 8 and it was the first defeat for the tourists during the historic season.

This card would have been issued well before 1908 but could have still been in circulation at that time. Albert looks quite young so the card may date from around 1895. I'm really pleased to have been able to buy it.
