The UK government is considering plans to stop children chatting with strangers on platforms like Roblox, Fortnite, Discord and Minecraft.
Ministers are concerned that gaming platforms and online communities can be used by predators, scammers and other bad actors to contact children.
If the plans go ahead, children could face restrictions on messaging, voice chats and other forms of communication with people they do not know.
The government is also looking at whether platforms should introduce stronger age checks and child safety measures.
