After the February Steam Next Fest, we will no longer update the demo and will shift our full focus to the full release. In fact, we’ve already been doing this over the past month—large amounts of art assets, level setups, and narrative content are currently progressing in an orderly manner. We hope to present the full game to everyone around mid-2026.
We will be participating in the Steam Game Festival at the end of February. The main storyline content of the demo remains unchanged, but we have made several system adjustments based on player feedback. These include being able to change equipment during combat, reducing item usage to consume only one ATC segment, revising the reloading logic, various balance adjustments, and bug fixes. After completing the demo, players will be able to unlock the outfit customization system.
The Parasite Mutant DEMO is out now!
You’re welcome to join our Discord and chat with the producer, taki. I’m there every day.
In the Parasite Mutant demo, you’ll be able to play the following:
A tutorial to help you learn the core gameplay, including the combat system, etc.
The prologue, with a very small amount of story content.
An explorable area that covers about 5% of the full game’s total scope.
The demo takes about 45 minutes to complete.
Kind regards,
taki (Icesitruuna)
:)....We’re very sorry for the change to the free download date. The Parasite Mutant demo will now go live on January 6, 2026 at 5:00 PM (PST). We warmly welcome you to try it out and share your valuable feedback.
I forgot that the Steam Winter Sale is happening right now. If we release the demo during the sale period, we may lose a valuable opportunity for Steam exposure.
The Steam demo store page didn’t pass review. The main issue was that the demo banner was covering part of the logo text, so Steam sent it back for us to fix. It’s been a long time since I worked on a demo and I’d forgotten a lot of the details, so we weren’t able to release it this week—sorry about that.
Combat System
Parasite Mutant uses ATC (Active Time Chains) which combines the popular Active Time Battle system used in RPGs of the late-90s and a 3-segment chain system.
Our new game “Parasite Mutant” is now officially available on Steam and the PlayStation Store. It’s a hybrid real-time/turn-based survival horror JRPG.
