@monkey1371@NoLeftTurns In 2023 when FSU had their "elite" 13-0 team, they beat Miami by 6 in Tallahassee when Miami had a backup QB. Any real fan of either team knows this is how it goes 95% of the time regardless of rank/record
@HighlifeHeaden It also eliminates the BS projection rankings that just boost teams. Let the prestige from last year carry over, if the new team isn't that good, they'll naturally fall out
NEW: Florida State's Mike Norvell says he sent in and called the head of ACC officials over the "absolute joke" of a holding call that wiped away a Hail Mary against Miami:
"For those kids to not be able to finish the game on the field in that moment, it's really disappointing. A lot of judgment calls in all things, but that was bad. I haven't gotten the final response from them, but if it's anything less than what I said, it tells me everything I need to know."

WHEN LIONS WR JAMESON WILLIAMS PICKED A FIGHT WITH A DUDE TWICE HIS SIZE, THEN IMMEDIATELY RAN TO GRAB A TEAMMATE WHO COULD MATCH HIS SIZEππππ
Said this while watching. The only true remedy is eliminating the slide/giving yourself up. At this point, QBs take advantage with late slides/fake slides. If you want to be a runner you need to be a runner. Its not realistic to ask a DB to change direction in half a second
Look how late and slow this slide is. This was called targeting. Someone explain to me what the DB is supposed to do in this situation? Allow the QB to keep running?
@Justin673863881@ByuSome@mackisoc I know it didnt apply to IU, I'm saying thats how it should be. That would get rid of all the preseason projection rankings. Just keep them where they finished
I gotta tell you, I canβt get over it, John Harbaughβs attitude towards the New York media is REALLY pissing me offβ¦ let me tell you why:
1. Iβm a classically trained sports journalist - we are taught, be polite & respectful & professional with the coaches
2. From the other side, the league doesnβt EXIST without the media historically, no teams get any publicity, no players get any publicity, pro sports donβt exist without media coverage & hype
3. I can tell you that Coaches are also warned - do NOT piss off your local media because they will publish hit pieces and they will dig shit up on you that you do NOT want out in the open
Yet Harbaugh continues to treat NY media like little ants he wants to step on. Disgusting. Really disgusting.
@bearcrockmeier@MikeC1018@CFBMaxChadwick I disagree, the champion and runner up should be 1 and 2 to start. And until someone proves they can beat them it should stay that way
@bearcrockmeier@MikeC1018@CFBMaxChadwick If were being logical, IU should've started 1 and Miami 2. IU loses so Miami moves up. Until somebody proves they can beat them it makes no sense to drop them
@ByuSome@mackisoc I think Miami should be 1 because they lost the Championship last year and haven't lost since. Until somebody beats them, it makes no sense to not have them 1 after IU loss
Miami is the first team to hold the #1 ranking after 7 weeks with ZERO wins over ranked opponents since Ohio State in 2015.
Unfortunate that the voters are rewarding a team for RUNNING from competition.
The real answer should've been Indiana #1 and Miami #2 to start the year because they played in the championship. Until somebody proves they can beat them, they stay. IU lost so they move back. Miami hasn't so they take 1
@Texas2016State@On3 Props to them, man. They did something that hasn't been done in 65 years in going from 1 to two unranked losses. Making their mark lol
