The level of lunatic vulgarity that we have been trained to accept as a totally normal, mundane, daily background noise emanating from the White House is mortifyingly depressing.
This move undermines every claim of the Trump administration.
First, having ICE take over airport security does nothing to restore pay for TSA agents. So there goes the narrative of focusing on getting workers paid.
Second, this administration says undocumented immigrants are a danger to the nation. Stopping immigration enforcement so that ICE can pat down airline travelers refutes that claim.
Third, Trump's use of ICE at airports as a threat, not a solution, shows that he views it as his secret police force, not federal law enforcement.
And all of this because Democrats want reasonable reforms to an agency that has terrorized communities, violated constitutional rights, and executed Americans in the streets.
The GOP has shown it can't govern and can't rein in Trump's worst behavior eight months before the midterms.
It is not “my opinion” that voter fraud is a non-issue in US elections.
It was the conclusion found by Trump’s election fraud commission formed in 2017, the Heritage Foundation and the Cate Institute.
All of which were determined to find millions of fraudulent votes.
Worth stating plainly: when Olympic athletes criticize the Trump agenda as damaging to American ideals and the GOP responds with threats and calls to silence them, it literally validates the criticism.
@urso_bruto@chrismwojcik You’d rather talk about semantics, but the rest of us understand that it’s important to believe women when they talk about their experiences. Hopefully, in real life, you’ll focus more on fostering a safe, welcoming training environment for women than arguing about statistics.
We should not want to live in a country where masked federal agents get to stand in front of your vehicle to detain you, and then use that as justification to kill you if you resist.
@BjjTip I feel very lucky to have learned this way; when you understand the control and breaking mechanics it is easier to know when you’ve been caught in checkmate.
@excevefvfe19036 “Things are easier when you practice them” Wow what an eye opening critique! Please point me in the direction of your professional writing on the subject of jiu jitsu, I can’t believe I’m missing out on your monumental contributions to the sport,
@testabeatdrums I think this technique has a lot of nuance and requires a control that most players simply never developed. I stopped burying the beater because I was playing with too much force and tiring myself out more quickly - I think a lot of intermediate players have this problem!
