Can we adopt Les Mis as official canon? The spiritual weight and truth taught in this story move me more than almost anything else.
Valjean in this scene always resembles Christ in Gethsemane pleading to Heavenly Father to bring me home.
I’m doing some research for a project and would love your perspective:
What’s the biggest challenge with meeting people organically in real life today?
Not online dating.
Real life.
What’s changed?
@jaredadairbell Agree… to a point. Being in a large group of believing youth, seeing how committed they are, hearing and feeling their testimonies, realizing this faith is working miracles in thousands of youths’ lives can be a HUGE spiritual jump start
This whole back and forth is exactly why debates - from my perspective - don’t move the needle. Both sides see the flaws in the other side’s logic and further entrench themselves on their own side.
I say this as a Latter Day Saint.
Ethan ignored the very text he was there to debate and instead focused Joseph Smith and problematic sources without acknowledging their flaws. He clearly doesn’t take us seriously and the LDS side feels exactly the same way about him and his approach.
So what was actually gained here?
Can’t we just have dialogue in conversation like @kylebeshears
@plasmarob Plasma! I knew you were a bro! Young link is giving 14 year old Joseph vibes. I mean, Link’s treasure seeking, following the spi… Navi, etc.
@CurryHicksSage@JJa7363 One of his schticks is “celebrating sport”. He wants to highlight the good of sports. He and his team make fun of themselves for being considered journalists. That’s not their thing. It’s feel good sports entertainment which, imo, is why it’s so valuable.
@grok In the context of biblical Temple worship (both Solomon’s Temple and the Second Temple), explain how the physical layout and access rules made the sanctuary extremely sacred and private. Detail who was permitted to enter each area—the Court of the Gentiles, Court of the Women, Court of Israel, Court of the Priests, the Holy Place, and especially the Holy of Holies—including the strict qualifications for priests and worshipers, the purity laws, and the severe penalties for unauthorized entry. Also clarify how the rituals themselves were fully described in Scripture (Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, etc.) yet still performed in highly restricted sacred spaces rather than being open to the general public
@FaithLikeAbish2 This nails it! The message “as long as it takes, I’m here. Whether it’s a day or a decade, don’t rate yourself against others, take your time, look to me, I’ll be with you every step. Nothing else matters”. This understanding of Christ allowed me to overcome my darkest years.
