Never knew how far baseball could take you and the places you can see. These two have took me places I never dreamed. From our first trophy in Fulton MS to our last in Pearl MS. Thank you for for letting me tag along!! @peyton_c18@ShinallGehrig
Pine Grove’s Peyton Cornelius gave up a 2 run homerun on the 5th pitch of the game last night to fall behind 2-0 on the road against a Biggersville team that had lost 3 home games total in the last 3 seasons and ZERO at home this year. From that point forward, Playoff Peyt did what Playoff Peyt does…locked in. 1 hit allowed, 9 strikeouts and a huge Game 1 W. Peyton, the PG career leader in strikeouts, went over 250 K’s for his career last night. Back to the Grove to close it out with trip to Pearl on the line.
Pine Grove Senior Gehrig Shinall threw 6.2 innings to reach his max pitch count and with a runner on third and 2 outs, fellow senior Tanner Pannell gets a 1 pitch save inducing this pop out to Ayden Jones. This PG senior class advances to their 3rd North Half championship series in 4 years where they are set to take on Biggersville.
