When a Wildlife Trust is not to be entrusted with the Wildlife … read about the increasingly concerning behaviour of @gloswildlife in failing to address their connections to the Duke of Beaufort Hunt - they need to step up and take a principled stand.

This week North Dorset Hunt Saboteurs have reported that the Blackmore & Sparkford Vale Hunt have secured their 18th conviction in 3 years. Fred Ford was found guilty of assault by beating following an incident during cubbing last season. Ford pinned a female sab to a gate as she was trying to access a public footpath. Even when the sab was on the phone to the police the assault continued, showing the sheer arrogance of Ford.
It seems that criminality runs in the family for the Ford's as Fred's son is none other than Charlie Ford, the huntsman for the Dorset & Somerset Bassetts, who was found guilty of hare hunting earlier this month.
The fact that the BSV now has 18 convictions in three years is absurd. This just further proves why a full ban on 'trail' hunting is needed. As well as only existing as a smokescreen for illegal hunting, it harbours violent criminals who think they can assault members of the public to try and hide their illegal activity.
On Monday the HSA revealed that Philip Kennedy, recently convicted kennel huntsman of the Stowe Beagles, is the son of Steve Kennedy, the longtime secretary of the Coniston Foxhounds, the fell pack at the centre of the country’s largest-ever investigation into illegal foxhunting.
Both videos show striking similarities of young hunters being in the thick of criminality and being very much hands on. The younger members of the group display sickening enthusiasm at the prospect of seeing an animal, be it a hare or a fox, being ripped apart.
Both the Coniston Foxhounds and Stowe Beagles are operating illegally and are indoctrinating young people into their world of criminality. A spokesperson for the HSA said “We thank our sources within the hunting community for revealing the family connection between the Coniston Foxhounds and the Stowe Beagles, which helps explain the abject cruelty on display in both videos. We continue to call for the immediate disbanding of both hunts and – until this happens – they will both be priority targets for hunt saboteurs.“

A Hunt Saboteur spokesperson said,
“It is high time the Government made good on its manifesto commitment and banned not only these vile snares outright, but also the hideously cruel Larsen traps that cause immense suffering to both the captive call birds and the birds they are used to catch.
But this is just the tip of the iceberg on many shooting estates, where wildlife that may prey on gamebird poults is routinely trapped and killed to maximise the number of birds available for shooting each autumn. Hunt Sabs regularly document the use of Larsen traps alongside spring traps, poisons and other predator control methods. All of this is done to protect gamebirds bred and released for sport—many of which will themselves ultimately be shot, with thousands ending up discarded in stink pits or other waste disposal sites each year.”

At The Houses Of Parliament to support @CBTHunting who are calling on the UN to abolish trophy hunting.
Why we are we still tolerating it in the 21stC is beyond me. Most people find it abhorrent, most MPs want to ban it, let’s get the legislation over the line. #BanTroohyHunting
The fox and the crow, but no fable here.
The recent rescue of a snared fox on a Wiltshire shooting estate led to a grim discovery of Larsen and Clam Traps, exposing the cruelty that is inflicted on wildlife to protect the sickening interests of wealthy landowners.
This particular estate is alleged to be owned by a wealthy Belgian family operating through a corporate structure registered in Luxembourg.
Thankfully in this instance the ensnared fox was taken to a veterinary practice and treated for its injuries. However, snares do not discriminate and unfortunately it is a very tragic and grim reality that vast amounts of our wildlife are cruelly killed to protect the interests of the shooting industry. It is high time the Government made good on its manifesto commitment and banned not only these vile snares outright, but also the hideously cruel Larsen traps that cause immense suffering to both the captive call birds and the birds they are used to catch.

In a recent email the Hunting Kind have tried to claim that hunting is "ethically and morally the right thing to do." They claim this despite video evidence over recent years showing hunts such as the Avon Vale & Coniston Foxhounds digging out foxes and throwing them to hounds.
They are also stating that "hunting is not a vicious act of pleasure." The recent footage shared by the HSA which shows the Devon & Somerset Staghounds encouraging hounds to terrorise a cornered, injured and terrified hind for their own pleasure, directly contradicts this statement.
They are also claiming that hunting "forces a deep, respectful appreciation for the lives taken." Again, we refer to all the times we have witnessed hunts jeering when an animal has been killed. The recent footage of the Stowe Beagles shaking hands and congratulating each other as a hare is mauled.
There is nothing ethically or morally right about hunting. It has been illegal for over 20 years but people such as the Hunting Kind continue to ignore and break the law. We need a watertight ban, no loopholes, no exemptions.
The HSA has today, exposed the family link between the Stowe Beagles & Coniston Foxhounds, the fell pack at the centre of the country’s largest-ever investigation into illegal foxhunting.
Recently convicted kennel huntsman, Philip Kennedy of the Stowe Beagles is the son of Steve Kennedy, the longtime secretary of the Coniston Foxhounds. It seems that animal cruelty and violence runs in the Kennedy's blood(sports).
This revelation explains why the Stowe Beagles have made so many trips to Coniston country and raises further troubling questions about safeguarding failures that may have allowed Stowe students to be inducted into a world of cruelty and criminality.

Well done to the Badger Trust and wildjusticeorg for taking Natural England to court over the despicable badger cull and securing these acknowledgments and getting these admissions into the public domain.
