Reminder:

1) Just three years ago, a majority of Democrats supported quarantine camps and house arrest for the unvaccinated. A quarter of them wanted to take children away from unvaccinated parents, and over 40% of them wanted to fine and imprison anyone who criticized the vaccine.

2) Remember those pardons that Trump issued in his first week in office? One of them was for a 75-year-old Pro-Life woman who was sentenced to 2 years in jail for praying near an abortion clinic. When her family pleaded for mercy because they feared she would die alone in jail, the Leftist judge mockingly told her: “Maybe you should make an effort to remain alive, because that is a tenet of your religion.”

3) In 2020, UNC Wilmington professor Mike Adams made a joke comparing the COVID lockdowns to slavery. The woke mob on campus destroyed his life, blocked his promotion to full professor, got him fired, stalked him everywhere he went, and harassed him with threatening phone calls and text messages until he committed suicide.

For the last several years, I have heard endless #TEDx Talks and expert panels invoke #GeorgeFloyd as the impetus and justification for regressive laws, policies, and #DEI initiatives; as though his death had one iota to do with how Company X seven states away conducts its hiring practices.

And now - not surprisingly - #CharlieKirk 's death is already being leveraged as an excuse to push policies and practices wholly unrelated and/or antithetical to the man's core principles. @AGPamBondi's threatening "Hate Speech" prosecutions being the hottest off the presses.

9/11 gave those who would abuse a national tragedy an excuse to quash Civil Rights seize more power. COVID gave those who would abuse a global emergency an excuse to quash Civil Rights and seize more power.

Let's not repeat history all over again. Promote open dialogue, #FreeSpeech , and ESPECIALLY speech you might not agree with, or that might even make you angry. And reply with your own speech.

That is - and should always be - the American way.

I’ve never been a fan of Charlie Kirk nor a detractor. He has said much I agree with and much that I have questions about, even as I share most of his political philosophy.

Over the last couple days many of his most virulent detractors are demonizing him using words he has said, but clearly not with any form of context.

It’s easy to repeat out of context, cherry picked quotes being used as taking points rather than have the intellectual honesty to read/listen to the complete thought and then argue against it in good faith.

I know the haters won’t read this, but those who want to know the full context of many of Kirk’s words being bandied about should take a few minutes…
