Santa Fe Farmers Market just made their priorities clear: political pressure over young women.

Instead of celebrating  Title IX and honoring the achievements of women in sports, the Farmers Market folded. They pulled the plug on an event meant to uplift and empower girls across New Mexico. What should have been a moment of pride became a display of cowardice. Despite this, the Independent Women's Forum and stakeholders still plan on honoring these achievements.

“The Santa Fe Farmers Market turned their backs on every young girl in this state—just like the Legislature continues to do,” said Rep. Andrea Reeb (R-Clovis). “This is a slap in the face to every woman in New Mexico.”

“Women have fought long and hard for these opportunities. They deserve to be recognized—not erased,” said Rep. Rod Montoya (R-Farmington).
Reps. Andrea Reeb, Rod Montoya, Jenifer Jones, and Rebecca Dow have led the fight in the Legislature to defend and protect women’s sports and spaces with every House Republican backing their efforts.
