Today @Midrifthurinet hosted a team from the British High Commission Office @FCDOGovUK for a working session on the implementation of the SCOPE Project, under the Kenya Institutional Strengthening Programme (KISP).
Discussions centered on strengthening collaboration between the two organizations and aligning the delivery of project activities with the terms of the partnership agreement while reviewing the performance reporting framework, including regular progress updates and how results will be tracked against agreed indicators.
The team covered shared commitments that guide the partnership, including safeguarding and zero tolerance for sexual exploitation, abuse, and sexual harassment, gender equality and social inclusion, data protection, risk management, and environmental responsibility.
They further discussed accountability and transparency and planned the way forward, including closer coordination on upcoming activities in Nakuru County.
MIDRIFT is implementing the #SCOPE project in Nakuru County, in partnership with Electoral Law and Governance Institute for Africa @ELGIA_Africa, with support from @UKinKenya.

I asked my mentor, “How do I become the man women desire and men admire?”
He said:
-Be decisive.
-Stay disciplined.
-Limit your availability.
-Own your mornings.
I asked, “How?”
Here is how he replied......
My take home from today's post-Monetary Policy Committee briefing:
· Whereas there seems to be certainty that the path ahead will be shaped by rate cuts, it is the pace & scale of cuts that is now largely uncertain
· CBK sees a rather bumpy road ahead in disinflation among the major markets, Dr Thugge spoke about "global inflation has moderated, but the pace of decline has slowed down" at least 3 times
· This explains the gradual transition to policy easing which started with the review of the interest rate corridor around the benchmark rate from +/-250 bps to +/-150 bps in June as well as the adjustment of the Discount Window rate from the current 400.0 bps above the benchmark, to 300.0 bps. We have now moved to a 25.0bps cut in the benchmark
Looking ahead, 2 things in view of the above:
· With the risks of persistent inflation clouding the horizon, will we see a rate cut from the Fed in September? That will be a key determinant
· Another key determinant will be what OPEC+ decides in Oct, in August there was indication that production cuts will ease
The membership of the taskforce on Kenya's public debt audit:
· Chairperson - Nancy Onyango (I have asked whether it's the former IMF Director, Office of Internal Audit. I am waiting for clarification)
· Vice Chairperson - Prof. Luis G. Franceschi
Members:
· CPA Philip Kakai, Chairperson - ICPAK
· Faith Odhiambo, President - LSK
· Shammah Kiteme (Eng.) - President, IEK
· Vincent Kimosop
Joint Secretaries:
· Abraham Rugo (Dr.)
· Aaron Thegeya (Dr.).

Despite her unwavering desire to push for inclusion and participation in democracy, Naiko Jillo, a PWD, faced significant barriers. In 2022, together with @KECOSCE, we started working with Jillo to transform her into a PWD advocate.
