منتصف ليل 15 حزيران 1968 اعتدت القوات الاسرائيليّة على ميس الجبل الآمنة بحوالي 70 قذيفة فاجأت الأهالي العزّل. لم يكن الاعتداء رد فعل على أي عمليّة فدائيّة خاصّة أنّه لم يكن هناك نشاط فدائي في المنطقة والجيش اللبناني يمنع أي تسلل. تسبب القصف بتهدّم 5 منازل وتضرر مقبرة البلدة
