...and Marie Sklodowska Curie achieved all this before the end of year 1911. A whole decade before the establishing of the International Women's day... she and we were very lucky.

The first woman to be awarded a Nobel Prize, the first individual to be awarded two Nobel Prizes and still today the only individual with two Nobel Prizes in two different scientific categories: Marie Skłodowska Curie.

@PeterKolchinsky Do we know about why SARS-CoV-2 doesn't seem to replicate well in pigs or piglets (thankfully!) and is such knowledge applied in virus combat strategies?
Another study showing NO significant difference in viral load between vaccinated and unvaccinated people who tested positive for the delta variant of SARS-CoV-2. It also found NO significant difference between infected people with or without symptoms. Distance is key. Stay safe.
.@BillGates' new book is an exceptionally clear and accessible primer on climate change. He's unblinking in the difficulty of meeting this challenge but maintains a cautious optimism that it can be met—and provides a framework for action that is both specific and workable.
Vaccine 95% effective doesn’t mean 5% ineffective. Means 20-fold LOWER risk of symptomatic infection of any kind IF you encounter virus. & EVEN LOWER risk of hospitalization/death. Once vaccinated, have more to fear from flu than Covid. Get vaccinated when u can.
We got our first grant @cph_ctr, together with the emergency department at Bispebjerg hospital! We develop and validate a precise covid-19 quick test together with @AmagerHvidovre, Pentabase and @DTU_HealthTech
That goes straight onto our Wall of Fame! Thanks @EITHealth
The ongoing pandemic can cause many people to experience stress, fear and anxiety. This #MentalHealthMonth, NSGC Psychiatric Disorders Expert @J9_Austin explains the impact of #COVID19 on #mentalhealth and how to develop protective factors.
De har kortlagt det sjældne hjernesyndrom Rett samt givet unikt indblik i epigenetik og forståelse for, at neurologiske udviklingsforstyrrelser ikke nødvendigvis er irreversible. Derfor modtager Huda Zoghbi og Adrian Bird The Brain Prize 2020 https://t.co/FQtYddO2nA #dkforsk
Let’s remember that the research that will get us through this current situation was done or is based on research done before this situation. Funding and teaching science is important. Always.
Most academic journals are seeing increased (20-30%) submission rates as a result of the pandemic, but the productivity increase is gendered - something that will hopefully be taken into account at some point - the playing field still isn’t (and has never been) even.
So it’s going to take other studies with more accurate tests (not clear yet if we have any more accurate) done on random samplings of people and maybe at a time when the virus has spread more widely before we really know its lethality.
@PeterKolchinsky Thanks for sharing your knowledge - you're a "rock". I wonder if the "annual" influenza vaccines are developed more rapidly than your estimate for one against SARS2 covid19, and what the explanation for this difference may be?
Even if we're in this global crisis together, it's nice to see praise of the Danish government and read that Denmark is in a good place for a fast economic recovery. https://t.co/UkUYLjABuy via @BBC_Travel
