@jamiecullum Absolutely 😊 Loved watching this performance on YouTube, you were relishing those acoustics! A great sound makes singing a breeze, like having a following wind (oops, see what I did there 🤣)
But not if you sing 2m socially-distanced with a face mask on in an amateur choir run by a business at a Covid secure venue. Why are choirs being treated differently? @theJeremyVine
4 more days until amateur choirs can resume rehearsals indoors. It would be so helpful if @OliverDowden and @CommonsDCMS @DCMSArts could actually update their guidance before this date. Please show us some respect - it’s been a rubbish year and you’re not making it any easier!!
@OliverDowden Given that from 12 Apr “outdoor organised rehearsals will be possible in step two with no formal limit on the numbers that can take part”, please can you clarify what is an ‘outdoor’ space? Is a completely open-sided marquee considered an outdoor space?
@drchatterjeeuk Just discovered your podcast Rangan and I'm loving it! Would love to hear you cover the subject of singing for health and wellbeing sometime, especially singing in community choirs
@HarveyMaycock Hi Harvey, we're (Emma & Tim Hilliar) buying 2 Canal View from you. Could we have a quick chat to see how we can get things moving? We'd like to move on 26 Nov but Royds WK is being v slow! Emma 07793 983040 or Tim 07899 053804
@martinintune@OliverDowden My choir members need the weekly boost to their mental/emotional health. Surely as a business with a comprehensive risk assessment and following DCMS guidelines this should be permitted?
.@OliverDowden can I bring to your attention the plight of many choirs, bands, orchestras and performing arts groups who are struggling to understand if they can meet or not? The issue is explained in this snippet from a FB group chat.

A pre-print (before peer review) of the PERFORM trial will be published tomorrow morning. This trial was set up to look at the amount of aerosol produced when breathing, speaking, shouting and singing, in order to provide further information about the risks of singing.
