Geography and Biology organised another local litter pick. Fantastic Year 12 students volunteered to help the environment and community. Lots of rubbish was collected.
Tomorrow our sixth formers will join in with hello yellow day and raise money for young minds.
Students can wear a splash (or more) or yellow to celebrate.
Every year a group of our sixth formers work with main school students as paired readers. It's a unique opportunity that allows sixth formers to build skills they may use in future study and professions.
We’ve partnered with Coram Beanstalk to create future reading leaders.
Our year 12 students were invited to UCLAN for the afternoon to help them with their EPQ. Students had a great time at the enrichment session and exploring the campus.
All our students are able to complete an EPQ which can enhance university and apprenticeship applications.
We will be holding our Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday 19th October between 6pm and 8pm. The event is popular with year 10 and 11 students but anyone is welcome, there's no need to register.
We would love to see you on the night!

A Level geographers had the best time in the Lake District. They had a talk about the value of the National Park at Brockhole on Windermere. They then carried out primary data collection at Grasmere.
As a Sixth Form, we are very proud to win this award from EF this year, for our work with exchange students.
We're looking forward to warmly welcoming more students from Europe in September and beyond.
Yesterday year 12 visited Chester Zoo for our annual Psychology and Sociology field trip. The students had the opportunity to put the theories learnt in lessons into practise through observing animal behaviour.
A lovely day was had by all!
Last Thursday the second group of year 12 Biology students went to Ainsdale Beach to carry out some fieldwork studying sand dune succession. Despite the variable weather a great time was had by all!
Our Careers Fair will take place next Wednesday. It is a great opportunity for students to speak to a range of employers and education providers. Year 12 are invited to attend during period 3 but can visit at any other times during the day if they are free.
Mental Health Awareness Week 15th - 21st May 2023
As we wish our Year 11's and Year 13's every success in their exams they have started this week, it is apt that Mental Health Awareness Week is focused upon anxiety this year.

On Saturday 25th March, Geography and Biology A Level students went to Longton Brickcroft. They worked hard to clear land in order to encourage the ecosystem to thrive. It was prickly, but the weather held out.
Great day out for our Year 12 Aspire Plus students at the North West Cambridge University student conference - brilliant to be back in person after a 4 year gap!
