Other countries would not likely follow suit. Similarly Canada could rebrand the USA as LaLaLand. Would other countries follow? Mexico?

@CindymckayC @MargTokar The revenues from Crown owned corporations like Quebec Hydro and MB Hydro were once exempt from the calculation. But even with inclusion the fiscal capacity of those provinces still lags others. Even if resource revenues were excluded, AB would still not qualify

@CindymckayC @MargTokar When Equalization first started and resource revenues were not factored into eligibility, AB received payments. The hard earned dollars of all Canadians in all provinces and territories are taxed by the Federal Government.

@CindymckayC @MargTokar There is no line item in the AB, BC or SK budgets to pay for equalization. Equalization is a Federal program which makes payments to eligible provinces. FYI, Manitoba and some other provinces receive more per capita than Quebec. FYI, AB was also a beneficiary at one time.
