HP never made a Mac driver for this printer. It only works on Windows.

Claude didn't stop there. Over 4 hours, it tried every open-source driver. All failed. The printer kept printing garbled pages.

So Claude started reading the printer's own error messages to figure out what it needed. Found the right codec.

Downloaded HP's official Linux driver. Ran it inside a container on the Mac. Built a custom USB bridge to bypass macOS blocking the printer as "offline."

End result Cmd+P from any Mac app. One-command install. Works after restarts. Fully open source.

A printer HP gave up on. A driver an AI wrote in one sitting.
