@LeeHurstComic Which benefits? The largest benefit is state pension. So are you saying pensioners should work for their pension? Most other benefits are paid to people in work or incapacitated. There’s a fraction on jobseekers, so I suppose they could do some labour while out of work.
@VisionaryVoid@PicturesFoIder If single people always leave one seat between them it means half the seats are not in use, which is a massive pain in the bum if you are in groups of two or more (quite common at airports) and looking for spare seats. I always make room on a row by sitting next to someone.
@Justdavenow1989 Have plenty of money. If you’re coming for a long time, get a uk SIM card for your mobile phone with a good amount of data for all the app and map use. Use public transport in cities, but rent a car to see the countryside. There’s a lot to see and do so plan a long stay.
@matthewdmarsden If you can work hard, know your trade (whatever it may be) and can manage your money you will do very well indeed. Better than most graduates for sure. Important bit is to save to pay your taxes on time. Do that and you won’t go wrong.
