Going on day 2 with no power at the house; thankful for friends who let us stay with them and give us hot meals and showers
If you have tried to get in contact with me, cell service is very spotty.
I’ve done bus duty every afternoon this week and I had to shower first thing when I get home because the weather app has said “feels like 115 degrees” every. single. day.
Apparently I need a translator at work because I was saying “take a bite” and people thought I was saying “say goodbye” and my kids were thinking “paper” is spelt as “pay•pur” because of how I pronounce it
Teaching people how to read, improve their reading and comprehension, and learning about literacy/language development is so fun.
My “Language and Literacy Development in Diverse Populations” class made me want to pursue a literacy specialist certification !!!!
while we can be hesitant to get back in the classroom and constantly dreaming about our next break, let us not forget that there are students who are eager to be back because school is the one place that they are loved, protected, fed, and cared for
Going through my family tree and I can confirm that I do not look like anyone on my mama’s side of the family
My dad’s side on the other hand…. We all look like carbon copies of each other
I’m tired of looking for teacher shirts and seeing 5 million of them that say “I teach tiny humans”
I work at a high school. I am the tiny human.
I did find one that says “most likely to be mistaken for a student” so that was added to the cart immediately
Was at a teacher training session all day today and it further proved the fact that our roles are vital, we deserve more than we are given, we LOVE our students (even the difficult ones), we have so many legal requirements to meet so not just anybody can do what we do.
