Literally had the worst Airbnb experience and now the host is forcing us to pay $8,500…

We booked an Airbnb in July for offfkai 2026 and the place was disgusting. The place so so dirty, run down and the worst of all, the septic tank blew up and there was POOP EVERYWHERE.

For days, the ENTIRE front yard had a mountain of poop infront of it. The walkway, the driveway, the lawn, it was covered in literal dookie. It was so disgusting I couldn’t believe it. Poop-water everywhere.

I’ve contact @AirbnbHelp, asked for assistance but they could only offer partial reimbursement. BUT NOW, A WEEK LATER, THE HOST IS FORCING US TO PAY $8,500!?!?!

Like what??? Your house exploded without any interference from us. How can you ever claim that the septic tank spewing mountains of doodoo in the front yard is anything but poor maintenance on your end. This kind of nonsense is completely devoid of logic and that host is just trying to SCAM US FOR HIS POOP-BNB.

The dude literally said mid trip “So sorry, can you clean up the setptic tank, we’ll have a guy fix it in a day or 2.” Like he recognized it was his fault, and now he’s trying to make us pay $8k once we leave???

Also WHO in the right mind would ask us, their Airbnb guests, to clean up years worth of random peoples stinkers.

Disgusting… Can’t believe this host is trying to scam his customers, I have no words… @Airbnb can you please assist us and resolve this, so we don’t get charged for things we didn’t do?
