Working on on-chain RWAs brings out all the great sides of why blockchain is valuable, but also shows why blockchain hasn’t picked up in traditional industries quite yet.

When you need to integrate payment providers, create fiscal receipts, worry about VAT, money flows, regulated financial operators, you then understand what an effort it is to bring web2 into web3.

Nothing is stopping us, though. There is a whole bunch of people across sectors and industries that want to see this come to life. The only thing is it is no walk in the park. From development to integration.

We need to praise those people. The ones you don’t see on X or social media. The ones that are behind their desks trying to fit blockchain principles into current law or, even better, to change the law so that we can have web3 work in our current economy.

I’m super bullish on this transformation. It’s happening while you sleep and while you trade your meme tokens. It is the unstoppable power of true believers bringing RWAs to both web2 and web3 audiences.

Brace yourselves, as the real transformation is only beginning.

As a long-term VR dev and entrepreneur, here is my Vision Pro experience, assessment and personal view:

TL;DR - Quest 3 by @MetaQuestVR is a far better device. Vision Pro feels like the DK2 (Oculus DevKit2) of spatial computing wannabes.

Vision Pro:

•WOW effect on the first try of pass-through.
•Comfort is terrible - will not be used for a long time by real users.
•Resolution is amazing, but achievable by competition soon.
•Fantastic UI look of floating windows.
•UX on floating windows is good.
•Menu entering/exiting is terrible. Pressing the button on a headset is a no-go.
•Pinch as the only hand gesture is not using your hands’/fingers’ potential enough.
•No walking VR experience is expected, but it seriously affects products that will be developed.
•Overall UX feels outdated as we have had the same UX on Hololens #1 and WMR gen1.
•Reading is not yet on the level we need to use it as spatial computing.
•You can’t just switch the headset from person to person due to eye calibration.
•Build quality is great, and you would expect that for that price point.
•Price point is hurting any normal human being.

All together, it feels like an experimental device built for developers. It will not be used for a long time. It will sit on your table and collect dust. Even the greatest experience will not be enough to substitute it for a laptop/TV/mobile. Is it a glimpse into the future? Maybe. Will competition strike hard? Yes. Will spatial computing be a thing? Probably not yet, if ever.

@fredwilson once told me when we had a conversation about VR, “people will not wear things on their face.” I would like to amend that a bit - people will not wear things on their face for a long time. They will not use a face attachment as they are using their phones and carrying them in their pockets.

We’ve been developing VR for a decade. I remain bullish on VR, and I think short VR experiences are amazing and everyone should own a headset. Will Apple move into full VR? I don’t think so. Will we spend a full day in VR? We will not, and we should not.

Sunglasses XR? Yes, but again not for a full day.

So, am I excited? Yes! I’m excited that Quest 3 is more usable while being much cheaper. I’m super excited to develop for Vision Pro and find new ways to utilize XR (and there are some).

One thing I learned over the years - be first when new hardware is released, and never underestimate Apple. Never. Ever.

💡Here is an idea: Instead of phones, Solana should make great, cheap, fancy hardware wallets for.. Solana.

1. Could be the best hw wallet for sure
2. Dedicated hardware for Solana unique features
3. Less or no competition (depending on features)
4. Greater demand and much bigger market
5. Every Solana user would get one
6. Still can be used for airdrops
7. Fantastic onboarding vehicle
8. Safer liquidity on-chain = more liquidity
9. Quicker and easier upgrade cycles
10. It would be so freaking cool

This list could be like 30 bullets 😀
