@itspolly_idk Yes! You can read more about it on the linked namuwiki, but apparently the remade Miku versions are copyrighted under his new label, Arch
Reminder that this is (probably) called a "Jin" campaign instead of a "Kagepro" campaign because 1st Place is holding the copyright rights to Kagepro hostage and preventing Jin from working on it
I think everyone who cares about VOCALOID should look into the copyright situation happening with Jin and 1st Place (over kagepro) and re-evaluate how they want to interact with the company and its IPs
@chica_pegaso The company Jin used to be signed under, 1st Place, owns the copyright to his original works (Kagepro) and seemingly refuses to give it back to him after he left the company in ~2016
@Nozomi67318045 If you look at my replies on this, I left some places to read more!
TL:DR: the controversy section of Kagepro on namuwiki has the most compressed timeline of info
Reminder that this is (probably) called a "Jin" campaign instead of a "Kagepro" campaign because 1st Place is holding the copyright rights to Kagepro hostage and preventing Jin from working on it
@KMnO4_utau In 2016, Jin teased a reload for the anime (mekakucity reload), then had to say he was working on it every year bc no news were being shared. eventually in 2021, he stated the project's hiatus was due to copyright issues w 1st Place
