the reporter saying the silence from management after newjeans return to ador isn’t neutral, that it’s psychological isolation, erasing them unless they’re under control, and predators redefining “return” as humiliation rather than reconciliation just completely ruined my day

I received a message asking if I would be willing to handle the styling of NewJeans’ members’ dorm. It was from CEO Min Hee-jin.
I was surprised just by the contact itself, but what shocked me even more was that the space I would be styling was the members’ dorm. I’ve styled various artists’ spaces before, but I had never once brought original design pieces into an idol dorm. The very idea that a company CEO wanted to decorate idol members’ living space with designer furniture was, in itself, a refreshing shock.
Our first meeting with CEO Min and the five NewJeans members. CEO Min said, “Girls, show them the furniture you like,” and the members each showed photos of furniture they had saved on their phones. They’re still young, but all five have their own tastes in furniture, and each taste was different, which I found fascinating. What impressed me most was that the photos they showed weren’t online reference images; they were pictures they had taken themselves on their phones. Despite their unbelievably busy schedules, the members had spent several days with CEO Min, going around to see and learn about furniture.
They were about to move into a new dorm where each member would have their own room. Given how busy they were with domestic and overseas activities, they could have simply handed everything over to a spatial design expert. But CEO Min chose to have the members personally select and purchase the furniture that would go into their rooms, even if it took more time. For three hours, we walked all through the showroom, looking at, touching, experiencing, and talking about furniture. Watching them not just glance but ask questions and examine carefully, it felt less like shopping and more like a class.
If the members decorated their own rooms, the furniture for the shared living room and dining area would be CEO Min’s responsibility. One member liked wood with traces of age, another preferred a pop and metallic feel, another valued comfortable functionality, another leaned toward artistic pieces, and another liked witty, transformable furniture. Reflecting such diverse tastes to choose furniture for a shared space is definitely a difficult assignment.
But CEO Min approached the task with ease. Rather than trying to find furniture that captured the common denominator between all five tastes, she believed it was enough for pieces representing each member’s taste to coexist beautifully. If each charm exists as it is, and those charms don’t clash but harmonize, then a mixed arrangement can be even more attractive than a neatly unified theme. Instead of chemically fusing tastes into one, it was about mixing them harmoniously... creating beauty and order within that mixture. I found myself thinking, “Isn’t that perhaps NewJeans’ way of existing?”
She was like a New Things teacher and a mom to NewJeans. One day, she spent a full hour and a half choosing the fabric for the sofa and dining chairs, the seats the members would use daily. Decorating the members’ dorm with this level of sincerity and quality… it would be impossible without a genuine desire for them to learn and grow well. By living with original furniture pieces, the members will consciously or unconsciously come to understand the powerful influence great design has on life, and on rest.
Watching how CEO Min cherishes and nurtures the NewJeans members made me rethink how I, too, should cherish and help develop the Anderson C team members. CEO Min, thank you sincerely for thinking through and creating these precious spaces together with Anderson C.
