Bruno done his hamstring, didn’t receive any treatment, played a through ball, long ball and almost scored all after the injury.
He’s a different kind of monster, proper Captain. ❤️
This is definitely one of my favourite Bruno Fernandes moments at Man United.
When he wrote an open letter to the fans the day before the FA Cup final, pleaded with them to stick by them despite a difficult season, talked the talk, and led us to the trophy.
A true captain. ❤️
🚨Unpopular Opinion — but it needs to be said:
Paul Pogba was very good for Manchester United, and one of the reasons we still struggle today is because we’ve never actually replaced him.
People can talk about injuries, mistakes, whatever — but when Pogba played, he carried our entire midfield on his back. He took on all the ball progression responsibilities, dragged the team up the pitch, broke lines, controlled transitions… all the heavy lifting.
Paul Pogba was judged on defending, passing, progressing the ball, carrying the ball, assisting, and scoring goals. No other player is judged that way!
And because of that, Bruno could stay higher, stay dangerous, and focus on what he does best: creating chances and scoring goals. Since Pogba left, Bruno has basically been forced to do everything.
Progress the ball ➜ create chances ➜ score ➜ press ➜ carry the midfield.
No midfielder on the planet has that workload. It’s insane.
Don’t get me wrong. Pogba wasn’t perfect. But, he is much better than what the media wants people to believe. Fans expectation from Pogba was unreasonable. Yes, he was defensively weak. But, his ball progression definitely made up for his defensive weakness.
Until United find a midfielder who can do what Pogba did — someone who can take the ball in the middle third and actually move the game forward — we’re going to keep seeing the same problems.
Replacing Pogba isn’t just hard… it’s damn near impossible. But the club has to try, because the midfield hasn’t been balanced since he left. Say what you want about him, but United haven’t had a midfielder anywhere near his profile since. #MUFC
