English:
I think that alongside of trying to prop up the more mainstream western artists in Japan that already have a very large prominent following overseas, it is equally as or even more important in my opinion to cultivate and showcase the best of the western underground here to them as well just like how me and some of my other peers are trying to do the same for Japanese DJs and music makers here in America. The underground I am talking about are those random producers and music makers you may come across randomly on SoundCloud that are absolutely amazing with little followers but haven't "broken through" to the mainstream yet or make music that in core is divisive to the western mainstream. Meaning those who aren't necessarily playing the biggest festivals like EDC in America or have arena/stadium level headline shows.
Both sides of the scenes can learn a lot from each other, and we are seeing proof of that everyday in which artists from both the West and Asia are innovating their own unique paths day after day. I think it is more healthier for our music communities to connect and draw inspiration from one another and there is no correct "one way is right" sentiment.
Japan has a very unique electronic music scene as well with a variety of different subcultures that inspire a lot of us in the west as well and without Japanese music I can guarantee you that a good handful of your favorite western music producers would not be making the sounds that they are known for today.
If we paid for 90 seconds of CO₂, you can bet we used all 90 seconds. 😂💨
