WE DID IT! The first portal and robots on the Austin @pipedream_labs Network go live in February!
We'll be around all day, so ask a question here and we'll respond with a video!
Here's a quick thread about what we delivered & where we're going next:
NEWS: Elon Musk's The Boring Company has released an update on the tunnel it's building in Nashville. The initial airport-to-downtown tunnel will carry 20,000-30,000 people per hour and have 20 stations.
• Prufrock-MB1 is assembled, in the shaft, and will be ready to start tunneling by Dec 15th.
• Out of 45 necessary permits, 27 have been approved and 10 are under review, while the remainder relate to proposed route expansions.
• A comprehensive environmental impact study found no significant risks, and TBC reports zero safety incidents to date
Future add-on stations will not slow the system’s travel times. A rider traveling from Centennial Park to the airport, for example, would still make the trip in about ten minutes regardless of how many intermediate stations are added later.
China unveils a 600 km/h (373 mph) maglev train—now the world’s fastest.
It can slash Beijing–Shanghai travel time to just 2.5 hours. Powered by magnetic levitation, it’s ultra-quiet, efficient and emits zero direct pollution.
A terrific map & graphic here! the commitment to exporting critical infrastructure as a means of global influence, stunning... One such game changing deep-tech infrastructures that China may save for themselves is hyperloop. They are the furthest along as a nation builder: (2nd vid hat tip to https://t.co/4r7zD4q7KD)
