Find idle instances. Delete unattached storage. Rightsize oversized virtual machines. Improve tagging.
Important but easier parts of #FinOps.
Here are 5 cloud cost drains that can remain hidden even when your dashboards, reports, and tags seem fine ๐

For regulated teams, the first question when looking for a FinOps tool often isnโt โWhich tool has the best dashboard?โ

#AWS and #Microsoft are making AWS-to-Azure connectivity much easier.
Multi-cloud networking is getting easier.
#FinOps across it may be getting more interesting.

Setting up Hyperglance just got a lot easier.
Weโve replaced the old checklist-style onboarding with a proper step-by-step setup flow for AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Kubernetes.

COIN (Cost Optimization Index) Score is a useful #FinOps KPI, but only if you treat it properly.
It compares known savings opportunities against total cloud cost, then turns that into a score from 0 to 100.
COIN = [1 โ (Total Savings Opportunity / Total Cost)] ร 100
From January 2027, under the EU Data Act, switching charges, including qualifying data egress fees, are due to be removed.
A huge win for portability. But cheaper data movement doesnโt automatically make a workload easy to move.
The tougher questions are often architectural.
This Reddit is having a bit of a nightmare when it comes to Azure tagging and cost allocation (clearly, they aren't using Hyperglance either).

Finally, #Microsoft has revealed Azure's annual revenue - just over $75 billion.
How does this compare to #AWS and #GCP? Last reports were $111 billion and $50 billion respectively. Still quite a way to go for Satya Nadella & co, but the chase is on.
