@honour_can_code This is even too far. He can’t build just the ecomm site in a month. I’m not talking about just the UI clone. I mean the whole services/infrastructure that makes up the ecomm
@akinkunmi To think that you just mentioned the parts of the system you known/remember. There are even unknown unknowns that you haven’t mentioned. The argument is just absurd. I don’t think these people have ever built anything before
@JamesEChung @trashh_dev My experience is in mobile dev but I’m trying to transition to backend. I plan on picking up Go. Would it be advisable to stick with that or pick up Java instead?
@Tha_Blessedpapi@QsAbdulhakeem@kisa256_@AfamDeluxo …the existing models and slap a new name on it. They can eventually find another way to make AI and make it be able to think…and I’m saying that it might not be in our lifetime. You wouldn’t want to live in that world regardless.
@Tha_Blessedpapi@QsAbdulhakeem@kisa256_@AfamDeluxo We can go on about these minor technicalities like GPT1 being released in 2018…but my point is that progress isn’t linear and it’s unpredictable. There’s Moore’s law. Current architecture looks like it’s reached its peak. All they can keep doing is finding more ways to train
@kisa256_@Tha_Blessedpapi@QsAbdulhakeem@AfamDeluxo I’m still learning also brother.
About the dystopian world, I’m very sure most of us wouldn’t want to live in that. They’re talking about tech jobs? They should be worried about all jobs if AI ever gets to a point it can think for itself.
@Tha_Blessedpapi@QsAbdulhakeem@kisa256_@AfamDeluxo No one knows it all. I apologize if I sounded that way. I’m also looking to learning new things. You can correct me if you think my points are wrong. Also, GPT has been around way before Covid. We just didn’t have the hardware to take it to the next lever; enter NVIDIA
@Tha_Blessedpapi@QsAbdulhakeem@kisa256_@AfamDeluxo …this out but it might not be in our life time. If it is, I’m not sure you want to live in that dystopian world because then, all jobs will be lost, humans would e useless.
@Tha_Blessedpapi@QsAbdulhakeem@kisa256_@AfamDeluxo AI is not new. The term was coined in the 50s and the development started in the 50s/60s. Again the current architecture and implementation is based on recognizing patterns from the data you’ve fed to it. Current AI can’t “think”. I’m not saying they are or aren’t going to figure
