A horrific story of Israelis gang raping a Palestinian girl at the border of Gaza:

The Israeli settlers who established the Gaza border settlement of "Nirim" were making preparations for a party. It was August 12, 1949.

The tables were arranged in rows, sweets of various kinds laid out & wine was poured. The soldiers took their places & the platoon commander Moshe recited the blessing over the wine. Soldiers were singing, laughing, drinking & telling jokes. It was a merry-old time.

At 9:30pm, the Israeli platoon commander asked for quiet. He reminded the Israeli soldiers about the Palestinian Bedouin girl they had caught earlier that day during a patrol in their sector.

They had brought her to the outpost & locked her up in one of the huts. Platoon commander Moshe said he was putting forward two options for a vote:

1) the first was that the Bedouin girl would become the outpost's kitchen worker

2) the second was that the soldiers would get to gang rape the girl.

A majority voted for option 2. "We want to fuck," the soldiers chanted. For the next few days she became the platoon's sex slave. 20 Israeli soldiers gang-raped her and then murdered her.

For years, an Israeli Jewish university lecturer has been plotting to carry out terrorist attacks to kill hundreds of Arab Israelis, including Bedouins, as well as Palestinians living in East Jerusalem and the West Bank.

The terrorists's name is currently being withheld from the public.

Under the plan, 72 Jewish terrorists would have been divided into 12 terror cells, with 6 operatives in each. They would be armed with various weapons, including pistols, rifles and axes, and would "launch surprise mass-casualty terrorist attacks in mixed Jewish-Arab cities and Arab communities across Israel."

The plan also called for the cells to receive pre-coordinated assistance and backing from subversive elements recruited from within the Israeli army, including air, artillery and armored forces that would carry out attacks on Arab population centers.

UPDATE on the Cornell incident:

As reported by ABC, newly released texts between Jane Doe and Male #1 from 4 days after the incident (several weeks before police report) demonstrate that she told him "everyone needs to grow up cause sexuality and sex and s---is changing and stuff like this is going to become more common, I'm also really open minded tho, I love you king."

A couple weeks later, but still before she made a police report, the young man told her that he was concerned he'd been "labeled an assaulter" and she responded "I haven't said anything but I do know people are changing the narrative because like in any sexual scenario w one woman and many men the woman was probably the victim."

While these texts do not conclusively prove she was not legally raped, they substantially strengthen the supposition that Jane Doe changed her story, and possibly genuinely changed her perception of what happened, as a result of being publicly shamed for having sex with many men or whatever was happening in her relationship with Male #1.

The most important point though, is that destroying people's lives based on allegations to police, in a lawsuit, or elsewhere is extremely dangerous. It is exactly why civilized societies should not engage in the modern equivalent of witch trials, and people should decline to rush to judgment. The way this story has changed over mere days is a near perfect lesson in why we shouldn't call for people's heads simply because disturbing accusations have been made.

Of course, no one will actually learn anything and nothing will change, regardless of how many times this sort of thing happens, because apparently as a nation, we are incapable of actual progress.

I intend not to comment on this case again absent extraordinary developments, because my primary interest is not in determining one way or the other what happened, but in urging people to resist the temptation to engage in mob justice to the point law enforcement officers are acting at the public's direction. I believe that point has been made, although of course it won't satisfy the bloodthirsty.
