Gonna be making more updates to FlySec once i finish all these assignments. I have a lot more ideas i want to try with it, just gotta survive college first 😭
quick FlySec update: the current run just reached cycle 57 and has officially been going for OVER 23 HOURS
15 pages visited
5,600 checks made
69,573 events recorded
1 confirmed finding
Was reading more about the FlyWire paper earlier and found this really interesting: 85% of the mapped neurons are intrinsic to the brain, meaning most of the fly brain’s wiring is communicating with itself rather than directly with the outside world. INSANEE

The FlySec Atlas is live 😎
I built an interactive 3D map of the audit in Three.js. every world is a page the browser reached, flight paths are real links, orbiting particles are recorded checks, and magenta crystals mark findings!!
explore it:

working on a FlySec update rn. seriously did not expect this much attention 😭
update: an interactive 3D discovery map built with Three.js where you can explore what the fly found, how it got there, when it happened, and how each step connects! Love using ThreeJS <3
should be live soon!!!
I know not everyone cares about tech stuff lol (boring), but here’s how FlySec works under the hood:
a Chromium browser reads each page and turns what it sees into signals. Those pass through a graph of 276 FlyWire neurons and 4,568 connections, helping choose what the audit does next.
The docs page goes more in-depth about FlySec :)

honestly didn’t expect this many people to be interested in FlySec lol
really appreciate everyone checking it out and following along while i keep building. thank you guys :)
the image below was the original assignment that started FlySec:
ALSO FOR anyone wondering where the brain data actually came from:
i used a small slice of FlyWire FAFB v783 real neuron IDs + connection counts from a mapped adult female fruit fly brain

probably my favorite part of FlySec is being able to watch the browser and the brain model at the same time.
what the browser sees gets turned into signals, activity moves through the FlyWire graph, and you can see which action the model prefers next

small FlySec update lol
it’s been running for 21 hours and somehow made it to cycle 52
15 pages explored
5,095 checks
1 confirmed finding
still live if you wanna watch the fly keep doing its thing:

https://t.co/Ym3yBd2bRt was the result of this experiment.
It runs a real Chromium browser against an authorized test site. What the browser sees is turned into signals and passed through a small model built from real FlyWire FAFB v783 connections.
The output helps guide the audit's next move.
small FlySec update:
it’s on cycle 3 now with 15 pages explored, 214 checks and 1 confirmed finding so far.
you can watch it keep going here:

the first successful FlySec run is done.
15 pages, 13 forms and 99 checks. It flagged 15 things, but only one was confirmed: a password form served without TLS (CWE-319).
The other 14 are possible missing headers that still need review
not bad for a fruit fly.
