This is a potential big barrier to any government plans to get the waiting lists down. Senior doctors won’t engage if there’s a massive tax bill that comes from the pension tax. There’s a will but not if it costs your free time AND you end up #payingtowork.

@DrEilidhMaria A lifetime of constant stimulation can be pretty overwhelming and you won’t always have the stamina for it that you do now. You’re a long time in the job and much longer as a consultant. Choose your career based on how easy it is to to do stuff outside of your job.
