@DJSnM Human factors for how to alert on such a situation feels complicated. You want to indicate to the pilot that the autopilot thinks CAPS has been activated, not that the plane suggests CAPS acrivation. It feels easy to make a warning that under stress would be misinterpreted.
@MenTourPilot “Alaska Air spokesperson Alexa Rudin said via email that “fortunately some residual fuel remains in the line, and the quick reaction of our crew to reset the handles restored fuel flow and prevented fuel starvation.”
@MenTourPilot From the latest seattle times update it sounds like he pulled the handles to shut off fuel but didn’t get to setting off the extinguishers before the returned the handles to normal (and there was sufficient fuel the engines didn’t shut off)
@zmas920 @Pogue@pml_1025@OceanGateExped The paraphrase of their claim seems to essentially be “submersibles made due to the conventional processes are so mechanically reliable that failures are almost always due to human mistakes…. So it’s not worth following any of those procedures”…. Which is insanely illogical.
