@ScythianB @archon The Torchlight video games have a great compromise mechanic where you still have a to-hit roll, but instead of a miss, it's a "fumble" dealing 1/3 damage. This is more satisfying for melee and I would even say more realistic.

@wretchardthecat There is also the chance that Iran will reassess and focus its attacks more effectively on its actual attackers rather than counterproductive attempts to hit Gulf countries. It was stupid for Iran to attack those countries because initially they were against the US-Israeli war.
