Engaging with disturbing fiction doesn’t define someone’s character.

It’s also inconsistent to accept disturbing themes in film or games, but reject them in writing. What is the difference?

People have written dark and disturbing content for decades. There is no consistent patterns of authors becoming perpetrators, why is that?

If fiction caused that kind of harm, if representation = endorsement, it would’ve been regulated long ago.

Higher-than-thou mindset

You arent better than others morally just because you don’t interact with certain content.

A moral is a PERSONAL belief about what is right and wrong. It is not on you to choose what other people feel comfortable with when nobody is being harmed.
