The cameras are telescreens that enable permanent surveillance. The ununiformed officers are the Thought Police who create psychological terror through invisibility and unpredictability. The beatings are state-sanctioned brutality designed to crush dissent and enforce absolute obedience.

The truth is that there is no better alternative to Indian Nationalism, because it already exists and is built on the Constitution. Any other nationalism built on race, ethnicity, or language is just dystopia, since it does not have any constitutional framework to restrain it or protect individual rights.
