When you take a look at Ruben Amorim’s different midfielders he had, the sustainability in his philosophy is simply astonishing.

Even if Sporting lost many key players in that sector (Palhinha, Matheus Nunes, Ugarte), Amorim always managed to replace them perfectly, and keep the same way of play no matter the players.

Morita and Hjulmand have two different roles as Amorim demands, reflecting previous duos.

That is why, when the club’s business model relies (maybe too much) on players transfers, having a coach with a sustainable and clear vision of his game philosophy allows the club to sell players and having the guarantee to replace them.
