Kupując iPhone’a wiem co kupiłem. Kupiłem technologię Apple, zamknięty ekosystem, wygodę i bezpieczeństwo. To była moja decyzja. Gdybym chciał mieć inne rozwiązania kupiłbym inny sprzęt. To właśnie jest kwintesencja tego czym dzisiaj jest UE, a do czego została utworzona. #Apple

Wszyscy na tym tracimy. UE oficjalnie dzisiaj potwierdza, że nie ustąpi i decyzja o udostępnieniu technologii Apple jest tylko w ich rękach, a Apple mówi, że nie zgodzi się na to, aby inni agenci AI mogli grzebać w naszych plikach na iPhonie i iPadzie. Kto ma rację?

EC: Sure, if you want to get fined under the DMA

APPLE: How can we comply with the DMA?

EC: Give third-parties access to all the private data on Apple phones so that they can compete with you.

APPLE: But we can't do that, it would invade our users' privacy, and it's a violation of our brand promise.

EC: Then Siri AI won't be compliant with the DMA.

APPLE: How about if we give them access to a "Trusted System Agent", middleware that would allow competing virtual assistants to safely access the same features and capabilities as Siri AI?

EC: That's not equal access to everything you have access to, we want you to share everything, for free, that's what we think the DMA demands.

APPLE: I'm not sure that's what the text says, are you sure we can't talk about this? We don't even know if that's technically possible. We designed Siri AI to work with our systems, our private cloud, and on-device processing, we don't know how to provide the same access to third-parties from the jump. It's going to take time.

EC: That's fine, you can take your time, but if you launch in Europe we'll fine you.

APPLE: Can we start with the Trusted System Agent, and then figure out how to give you everything you want, that is technically possible, and in a privacy preserving way, over the next 18 months?

EC: Nope. EU law is non-negotiable.

APPLE: Really? That sucks, we don't want to Abandon our European users.

EC: That's Apple's decision, and Apple's only.

Dokładnie. Według UE najlepiej aby pierwszy lepszy agent AI usunął galerię zdjęć jednym promptem. Nie ważne co i jak ważne, aby była równość i skoro Siri może wejść głęboko w system to agent AI z Cypru też może! ✌️

Die Siri/EU-Situation ist ein regulatorisches Meisterwerk.

Apple kann Apple Intelligence in der EU nicht starten.

Warum? Weil nach dem DMA gilt: Wenn Siri tiefen Systemzugriff bekommt, muss jeder andere KI-Assistent exakt denselben Zugriff erhalten. Alles andere wäre unfairer Wettbewerb. Ein Gatekeeper, der seinen eigenen Dienst bevorzugt.

Also entweder startet Siri und jedes Shenzhen-Startup, jede zypriotische Briefkastenfirma und jedes Neffen-Hackathon-Projekt bekommt identischen Root-Zugriff auf das digitale Leben von 450 Millionen Europäern — oder gar nichts startet.

Apple schlug einen „Trusted System Agent“ vor: eine Sicherheitsinstanz, über die Drittanbieter-Assistenten Fähigkeiten erhalten, ohne das iPhone komplett aufzureißen.

Die EU lehnte ab.

Großartig.

Apples Antwort: gut, dann eben auch keine Entwickler-APIs. Kein Apple Intelligence, keine Drittanbieter-Integrationen, kein Zugriff auf Foundation Models für EU-Entwickler. Diese gesamte Ebene existiert auf diesem Kontinent einfach nicht.

Exzellent.

Das ist der Weg. Warum von amerikanischer KI abhängig sein, wenn wir den gesamten Stack selbst bauen können? Ein europäisches Foundation Model, trainiert auf einem europäischen GPU-Cluster, laufend auf einem europäischen Betriebssystem, auf einem europäischen Smartphone, gefertigt in einer europäischen Chipfabrik, betrieben mit europäischem Atomstrom aus Kraftwerken, die wir seit fünfzehn Jahren schließen.

Geschätzter Liefertermin: 2047.

Geschätzte Kosten: das BIP von drei Mitgliedstaaten.

Geschätztes Ergebnis: ein Chatbot, der vor jeder Antwort ein Cookie-Banner benötigt.

Lohnt sich.

In der Zwischenzeit werden europäische Nutzer davor geschützt, dass Apple Daten verarbeitet, die Apple ohnehin schon besitzt — indem sichergestellt wird, dass überhaupt niemand irgendetwas verarbeitet.

Kein Fehler. Das beabsichtigte Ergebnis.

Natomiast UE wymaga od Apple aby nagle procesy, które prywatnie robiła Siri na naszym urządzeniu mogło robić także Google lub inne AI z UE.

Es geht darum, dass Apple in der EU nicht starten kann, weil der DMA so ausgelegt wird, dass dann auch alle andere KI-Assistenten tief ins System dürfen müssten.

Und „tief ins System“ heißt hier:

Zugriff auf private Daten, Steuerung installierter Apps, Nachrichten lesen und senden, Dateien öffnen, Käufe auslösen, Aktionen in beliebigen Apps ausführen.

Apple hatte dafür wohl einen „Trusted System Agent“ vorgeschlagen: eine Art Sicherheits-Mittler, damit Drittanbieter-Assistenten Fähigkeiten bekommen, ohne direkt alles aufzureißen. Die EU hat das laut Apple abgelehnt.

I tak to teraz właśnie będzie wyglądać. Ludzie będą zakładać konta z amerykańskim Apple ID, aby skorzystać z funkcji, które będą niedostępne w UE, bo UE chce, aby Apple pozwoliło na bezwarunkowe wejście w ich system i wszystkie pliki byle jakiemu agentowi AI. 👏

And... EU-based developers won't be able to test or use the new Siri AI features in their apps on iOS/iPadOS. 💩

EU users will still get Siri AI on macOS 27, visionOS 27, and watchOS 27. Huhu!! 🙌

@typo3job @JakuBB91 Niezależnie od producenta, ale Apple pozywało producenta Pegasusa (NSO Group), wprowadziło Lockdown Mode dla osób szczególnie narażonych,
zaczęło wysyłać powiadomienia użytkownikom podejrzewanym o bycie celem ataków państwowych i REGULARNIE łatało wykryte luki. Hmm a inni?

@piotrntp @Rafal_Kunecki Wszędzie dostęp do AI jest równy, nikt nikogo nie wyklucza, ale dawanie agentom AI jakimkolwiek pozwolenia na grzebanie w naszych prywatnych rozmowach, plikach, zdjęciach bez żadnych ograniczeń dla zasady równości według UE jest idiotyczna.

@piotrntp @Rafal_Kunecki Tak 👏😂 Gdzie według Ciebie konkurencja AI jest niezdrowa? Apple ma swoje urządzenia i projektuje AI pod swój sprzęt. Google ma swoje i projektuje pod siebie, Samsung ma swoje i korzysta z rozwiązań trzecich. Apple ma jak najbardziej rację w tym sporze.

Jeszcze wczoraj na stronie Apple widniała informacja o tym, że wsparcie do WatchOS 27 miały zegarki od Series 10 w górę. Dziś już jednak pojawiła się zmiana i S9 też otrzyma wsparcie. Jutro może nawet Ultra 1 i S8? 👏😂🤦‍♂️
