The University of Minnesota agreed to pay Prof. Raz Segal $250,000 after they withdrew a job offer to lead their Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies, in retaliation for Segal accurately labeling the Israeli regime’s attacks on Gaza as a genocide. This victory is about so much more than one academic. It shows universities that there is a hefty price to pay for imposing the Palestine Exception to free speech.

Unfortunately, not all universities have learned this lesson. Just a few weeks after the settlement agreement, Prof. Segal’s current employer, Stockton University, censored his director’s message on the website of the MA program in Holocaust and Genocide Studies, removing all references to the Israeli regime’s genocide. Stockton University has decided that, when it comes to Palestine, major donors should have the power to overrule its own world-renown experts.

This is unacceptable. We need you to email Stockton University today! Tell them that universities should uphold the truth, not sell it to the highest bidder. Insist that there should be no Palestine Exception to free speech. And demand that they oppose genocide, rather than enable genocide denial.
