@DKellyMoore1@Rinedog1 Disagreed. He needs to set the new culture. The cards need to work on being in the entertainment biz & build back fan excitement & engagement. That opportunity is 👋 them in the face. They would sell out the next homestand if they brought him up for it. Got 2 start some time.
@DelmarHaase@Rinedog1 The Athletics brought up Kurtz way before Cags and he’s done nothing but kill it. Has an 1.044 OPS. Some kill it right away when they are ready and Wetherholt was ready before he made it AAA. Message to Cardinals: Players like J.J. Are the players who skip AAA. It’s not required.
@jw0595@hochman Do I? He has a career OPS+ of 87 and a 90 wRC+. Was an automatic out. There is a reason the overall SS position drastically changed in the mid 90’s.
@DanClarkSports Kjerstad will never be back. He needs a chance at a fresh start & still might never make it. Adley is replaceable by almost any other catcher in the league (reference STL. Cardinals.) he needs to be traded before contract talks need to start up so it can be another teams problem
@dgoold@SandyMac718 Seems pretty simple. Top 6 are lottery. Can’t pick in the top 10 if you aren’t lottery eligible. Aren’t lottery eligible if got top 6 picks in back to back years. https://t.co/iMmpp0nhnb
@conradsmith644 @LesWinkeler@bschaeffer12 You’re talking about people who were on the downside of their career when they got here & were showing signs of decline. Especially goldschmidt. Wetherholt is not the same situation, but both Arenado and Goldschmidt did generate buzz & ticket sales in a similar but different way
@conradsmith644 @LesWinkeler@bschaeffer12 Who have we witnessed it with? They haven’t had someone at wetherholts level of excitiment in a long time. Players have it or they don’t. It doesn’t take long to figure that out these days.
@conradsmith644 @LesWinkeler@bschaeffer12 No, but one person can generate hell of a lot of additional ticket sales and actual people through the gate. The cardinals are in the entertainment business and the fans are telling them what they want to see.
@Cardinals_Live Can you not see this team is out of gas? They have to make up for lack of talent with exhausting effort. It’s not sustainable and you’re seeing it. It’s more likely they finish behind the Pirates than make the playoffs.
@TheAlexV@katiejwoo Betts was also MVP runner up at the age of 23. Same age as Scott now. Most 5’9” dudes aren’t going to be great. Betts is quite the exception. Scott is just another late inning defensive replacement and pinch runner.
@TheAlexV@katiejwoo The entire Dodger team looks tired this season. Especially Betts, who is 32 with a lot of miles since 2019. I don’t think they win a playoff round. They would all benefit from a longer off season this year.
@SandyMac718 I want him swinging at the balls that are down the middle of the plate he let’s go to wait for the balls. Teams have learned to just throw him meat balls because he won’t swing if the game is tight. Splits show most of his numbers come when the game score difference >=4
@SandyMac718 I think he is exactly what we see and teams only need one to of those guys surrounded by a lot better talent. The cardinals don’t have that so he doesn’t fit here.
@SandyMac718 It’s hard to score when 2/3rds of the line up are just dick single hitters. That’s what they have and that’s what Nootbaar is. Just another vanilla guy doesn’t move the needle in any way.
@SandyMac718 underlying metrics say he is the definition of a league average players. He’s meh. Good 2have on your team when you just have one or two of those guys not an entire lineup. He’d do well in Philly for example. Just what they need if he was right handed. But they already have marsh
